Settled Stories

Marcella’s story, EU citizen living in the UK:

“I was worried because I didn’t have a reply from the Home Office several months after applying to the EU Settlement Scheme to secure my future in the UK. I called Settled to ask for their help.

My English skills are basic and without Settled’s help I couldn’t have obtained the Pre-Settled Status that allows me to live in the UK as a resident and to access NHS services and other rights essential for living peacefully.

In my opinion and in my experience, Settled’s help is crucial to promoting the integration of EU citizens.”

Loredana’s story, EU citizen living in the UK:

“Settled helped me to understand how absences affect the 5-year period of the Pre-Settlement Scheme and how to manage the situation for returning to the UK without losing my rights.

Settled’s help was very professional, confidential and kind to me. Thank you very much for your patience and kindness.”

Volunteer story:

Neide and Almeida (1)

Neide Santos, Settled volunteer originally from Portugal

“I am very proud of being a volunteer for Settled. Settled has been a pioneer in providing completely free, trustworthy and independent advice to many EU citizens in the UK, in their native languages.

The best part of volunteering for Settled has been the opportunity to voice the opinions and challenges faced by Portuguese nationals and other EU fellow nationals before local stakeholders and senior diplomats such as the EU Ambassador João Vale de Almeida [pictured].

I strongly encourage fellow EU nationals with a desire to develop their skills to join Settled.”

We’re here to help you with your Settled Status to remain in the UK. We have 100 volunteers on hand who can provide advice in all EU lanaguages.
