Brian Berger is editor in chief of SpaceNews.com and the SpaceNews magazine. He joined SpaceNews.com in 1998, spending his first decade with the publication covering NASA. His reporting on the 2003 Space Shuttle Columbia accident was recognized with an Online News Association award for breaking news. He was named senior staff writer in 2004, a position he held until being named SpaceNews deputy editor in 2008. Brian earned a bachelor's degree in magazine production and editing from Ohio University's E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, where he was active in student government.
