Settled has added its name to the call by the Mayor of London, alongside many Councils and other civil society organisations, asking the UK Government to scrap ‘deeply immoral’ plans to remove rough sleeping migrants from the UK simply for not having home.
‘The measures will deter already vulnerable people from seeking help in rebuilding their lives off the street and put them at greater risk of exploitation and infection from Covid-19″, according to the Mayor.
Settled supports homeless and rough sleeping EU citizens in the UK in obtaining pre-Settled or Settled status and their threatened exclusion from welfare and homelessness support is of deep concern. A copy of the letter is attached below.
